Beeraahaar is engaged in carnival art and crafts. The main objective being to promote carnival arts through community activity, and to provide young people with a history of their culture and heritage. We also aim to improve cultural interaction by encouraging participation from all ethnic groups.
Our group for the elderly works to create a sense of belonging among the elderly participants and provides an opportunity for inclusion through multi age and multi ethnic activities.

Our Vision-

Beeraahaar plans to become one of the foremost centres for the development of carnival arts and crafts by acquiring multi purpose premises in which workshops can be conducted to train young people and adults in carnival crafts and arts and in which there can be design, music and dance classes. It is also planned to provide training opportunities for participants in non artistic occupations such as accounting and computer technology.

Programmes and Activities-

At the present time we only have workshops for children during school holidays. In these workshops the children participate in design and dance lessons.
Once a month we have a lunch meeting for elderly members which is primarily for story telling and social interaction.
During the year the group travels to areas outside London for cultural events and has also scheduled international events.
There is a training programme for volunteers wishing to learn carnival craft.
